ESD – Energy Systems Design

With Revit Structure examined thanks to CTS, this month we are privileged to continue a similar dialogue with ESD – Energy Systems Design – as they present their use of Revit MEP. They have documented numerous projects using Revit and will let us all know just how well they think it is working at this point. Does it function well for analysis? For the Contract Drawings? What about modeling the plumbing design versus the need for those age-old schematic offsets? Are any of the sets of tools for mechanical, electrical or plumbing more advanced? Or are they at a comparable level of effectiveness? Can a mechanical engineer really communicate to a client using a Revit rendering of rooftop equipment?  Many architectural firms require this level of commitment from thier consultants - how is it working from the the other direction?
